Britain needs a pay rise

Come and join the Green Party group at the TUC March

British Trade Unions are marching on Saturday 18th October to call for a pay-rise for Britain. Average real earnings in the UK have fallen 8% since 2008, whilst bosses in the UK’s big companies now take home 120 times more than the average full-time worker (up from 47 times in 2000). This is the longest sustained decline in most people’s standard of living since records began.

The march will assemble along Victoria Embankment on the north bank of the Thames from 11am on October 18. We suggest joining from the rear at Blackfriars to avoid a crush further up Embankment. After moving off, the march will go along Embankment to Northumberland Avenue, across Trafalgar Square, along Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus, and then along Piccadilly to Hyde Park Corner, where it will enter the park. The rally in Hyde Park will start as the march reaches the stage.  See here for a march route and further information from TUC.
