The Loughborough and North West Leicestershire Green Party support the scrapping of plans to close rail ticket offices across the country, and in our local area.
Loughborough and North West Leicestershire Green Party members have been out supporting the RMT (Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers Union) on their picket line.
The National Green Party responded to the consultation to close ticket offices at rail stations across the country. Green Party Transport spokesperson Matt Edwards said:
“Any decision to close station ticket offices would be another short-sighted decision by a government that does not care about people who use public transport to get around.”
