Leicestershire County Council are holding a consultation until January 2024 on reducing costs at local Household Recycling and Waste Sites.  One site that is being considered for closure is at Shepshed.

Closing waste sites can lead to an increase in fly-tipping in the local area.  The Loughborough and North West Leicestershire Green Pary is concerned that reducing access to waste and recycling sites will make managing waste difficult for local residents and impact the local environment.
